Party with a Purpose Benefit for Cancer Studies
Basketball coach Dave Rice of University of Nevada, Las Vegas and coach Long Kruger of University of Oklahoma will host a party at the Hyde. This “Party with a Purpose†benefit will raise money for Cancer studies. The night will consist of cocktails and food provided my MGM Resort’ chef, famed personalities, a silent auction, and entertainment complete with show girls and a celebrity comedian. Tickets are $100 and you must be 21 to enter. Coaches vs. Cancer will have the Bellagio Hyde full house party for a purpose.

Cinco de Mayo falls on a Saturday this year which means lots of parties and things happening in Las Vegas. Two new Mexican venues- Carlos ‘n Charlies and Senor Frogs- celebrate their grand openings with festive parties. Senor Frogs will attempt to break the world record for the largest tequila toast at 9 p.m. so come on out should be a lot of fun.
Guests can enjoy $5 Don Julio Tequila shots from 9 to 11 p.m. at Crazy Horse III at The Playground to celebrate Cinco de Mayo.

The Smith Center For The Performing Arts In Las Vegas
Situated in downtown Nevada’s Symphony Park, the Smith Center for the Performing Arts in Las Vegas is spread over 4.75 acres. This is one of the largest theater facilities and comprises three theaters in two buildings. These include the 2050-seat Reynolds Hall, which is the main theater, Boman Pavilion Cabaret Jazz comprising 258 seats and the Troesh Studio Theater with a capacity of 250 seats.
Additionally, this location will provide a 1.7 acre open facility that can be used for outdoor concerts. Moreover, it will also house the Discovery Children’s Museum, which is one of the most popular tourist locations in Vegas. This building is considered to be the cultural location for this city and will be beneficial in imparting education about the country’s community.
The entire design of this location is inspired by the Art Deco, which was primarily chosen to complement the architecturally popular Hoover Dam. The design comprises a seventeen-storey carillon tower that is known to contain forty-six bells. One of the most distinguishing features of the building is that it will be the first building in the entire country to receive a LEEDS certification.
To ensure the best sound quality, the building includes technically advanced features, such as auto closing doors to reflect or absorb the sounds as necessary and retractable draperies. Moreover, the primary theater includes double soundproof capabilities, which eliminates all external noise. The building features various arts by Tim Bavington.
The groundbreaking ceremony for this large building was conducted on May 26, 2009. The center officially was opened on March 10, 2012. The cost for this complete project is estimated at $460 million.
The host for the opening ceremony was famous actor Neil Patrick Harris. Moreover, some excellent performances by Jennifer Hudson, Merle Haggard, Martina McBride, Marcello Gomes, and Arturo Sandoval marked the night. The MGM Grand Begins Hotel Renovation
The media generated a lot of interest with their headlines MGM Grand begins 160 million dollar hotel renovation. This enormous project did begin on schedule in October 2011. The renovation will see the 3,570 guest rooms and 642 suites in total receiving an extensive face lift. The final completion date is scheduled for September 2012.
Environmental concerns played a significant role in redesigning the rooms and suites. In future, guests staying in newly remodeled rooms will be able to appreciate the environmentally friendly and improved features. From the improved lighting, temperature control and solar shades down to the toiletries which are biodegradable.
Upgrading the technology in the rooms and suites to meet the modern requirements, is a major element in the redesign. New and up to date flat screen 42 inch HDTVs are being installed with improved interactive hotel services. Guests will be able to take advantage of the work area that will have ergonomic seating, a desk and adjustable lighting, will be available along with internet access.
Guests can look forward to relaxing in their stylish, modern but tastefully furnished room. In addition to their king or queen sized bed, they will have a separate seating area with comfortable sofas or armchairs. Each room will have its own mini bar containing a variety of alcoholic and soft drinks.
Several color palettes have been used for the room decoration and accessories. Spa and Executive suite colors range from cream through to taupe and mink to plum. The City View suites use brown, amber, cornflower blue and neutral metallic combinations.
This major project has its own established website that allows their current and future visitors to follow progress. The news back in October 2011 that the MGM Grand begins 160 million dollar hotel renovation project has not only been an opportunity to give the rooms a face lift. It has provided a great marketing opportunity for the company.
