Following its move to pull advertising from Facebook last week, General Motors is now pulling out of the Super Bowl, as well. Next year's game is going to be broadcast on CBS, but GM won't be advertising in it because the company says rates are getting too high.

An artist is upset with the Los Angeles Museum of Contemporary Art because he says his work was censored by the museum to appease sponsor Mercedes-Benz. Chris Silva was invited to show off his work at the museum's "Transmission L.A." exhibit, which was put together by Beastie Boy Mike D.

Parents Put Toddler In Washing Machine
Doing laundry is pretty boring. We think everyone can agree on that. But a good way to spice it up would be, say, bringing a deck of cards, a book, or a flask (if that's your thing) to the laundromat. A bad way to spice it up would be to put your kid in the washing machine. Unfortunately, while most people would think that's common sense, one couple must have missed the memo.
Bad Penny
You leave them in the âleave a penny, take a pennyâ dish whenever you can. If you see one on the street you donât pick it up because, well, itâs on the ground, and itâs hardly worth it, is it? Youâre right, it isnât. In fact, itâs not even worth a penny. So why do we still hang on to these outdated coins?
Groupon Gets a Sitcom
Groupon: it's great for when you want to try out a restaurant you haven't eaten at before and finding deals on liposuction and laser hair removal. Groupon: it's a bad premise for a TV show. Hear that, CBS? Apparently not. The network has approved a sitcom titled Friend Me, which is about two guys who work at Groupon.
Restaurant Food Found to Be Unhealthy
It's not surprising in the slightest that food prepared at restaurants is bad for us, but the actual numbers, that 96 percent of entrees exceed the USDA's limits for calories, sodium, fat, and saturated fat, are a little alarming. An 18-month study conducted by the Rand Corp. found that the food we're served when dining out is pretty detrimental to a healthy diet.
Polish Company Builds Supercar
Poland hasn't exactly been a hotbed for exotic autos, but Polish company Arrinera Automotive has come up with a 211-mph mid-engine bad boy that will undercut traditional exotics in price. The unnamed model will cost around $158,000 and rocket from 0-60 in about three seconds, thanks to a 6.2-liter supercharged V-8 from the Chevrolet Corvette ZR1 that puts out 650 horsepower.
Road Tunes
Today is World Goth Day, so itâs fitting that thereâs been so much death in the air lately. This past week saw the passing of not only disco queen Donna Summer, but of disco queen Robin Gibb as well, who actually made some really great psychedelic pop records before âStayinâ Alive,â which he obviously didnât. Guess it was just a song, after all.
Pants On The Ground In Alabama
Despite passing the Alabama State House by a vote of 59-0, the stateâs so-called âsaggy pants billâ has been killed by the Alabama Senate. The bill, sponsored by Rep. Alvin Holmes (D-Montgomery) called for a fine of up to $100 for juveniles and $150 for adults who let their pants droop well below their beltline.
Queen of Miss World Fiji Stripped of Crown
Officials for the Miss World Fiji pageant have decided to strip the crown from this year's winner, thanks to complaints from curmudgeony "concerned citizens" who say that the 16-year-old doesn't "represent Fijian beauty" enough. Officials took away the title from Torika Watters and gave it to another contestant.
Skechers Settles Lawsuit Over Bad Shoes
If you were one of the many, many people who bought a pair of those heinous Skechers that claimed they'd make you thinner, you're in luck. Your butt is probably the same size as it was before you bought the shoes, but your wallet is about to get a little fatter, thanks to a settlement in which Skechers has agreed to pay $40 million to consumers. The shoes were marketed with claims that they'd help people lose weight, but obviously, simply wearing a shoe doesn't burn calories, and now the company has to pay.
Physicists Break Teleportation Record
Teleportation is commonly understood as a means of moving objects (or people) from one location to another in an instant, usually by disassembling particles and reassembling them at their destination. That remains a far-distant fantasy. But quantum teleportation, which is the transporting of information, is possible, if not yet practical.
Make Your Own Bugatti Veyron
If you can't afford a Bugatti Veyron (let's be honest, few can), one way to compensate is to build your own, even if it's just a paper replica. If you don't have access to an assembly line, your next best choice is to get some paper and some ink and go to work.
53K Dead People on Voter Rolls in Florida
Oh, Florida. What would we do without your shenanigans? Why, it seems nary a week goes by without us hearing about something crazy going on down there, so here's this week's update. More than 53,000 dead people are on the state's voting rollsâsomething that officials are calling for to change.

Mad Men: A Christmas Waltz
Moving right along through the season (only three episodes left!), Mad Men's episode last night showed us a few of the characters' breaking points and insecurities. We also finally got to see Joan admit to someone that she and Greg were divorcing, which was refreshing. But overall, the episode was slow moving and somewhat dull, despite all the factors being there for an exciting episode. It seems like the writers are pulling a fast one, slowing the season down before quickly ending it, likely with a huge cliffhanger.

In 2009, then 19-year-old Kyle Best caused a car accident in which he injured David and Linda Kubert, who were on their motorcycle. Both David and Linda suffered gruesome injuries.
Bono Makes Even More Money Off Facebook
Regardless if you can't live with or without him, U2 frontman Bono is set to become the world's richest musician, thanks to Facebook's IPO. He will outshine Paul McCartney, all because he bought 2.3 percent of the company's shares in 2009. He bought them for $90 million, but with the company being worth over $100 billion nowadays, Bono suddenly finds his net worth rising, also.
