Rod Stewart Coming Back to Vegas to Play the Hits
Rod Stewart’s Time has reached number one on the charts and it did so by trying its best to recreate the sound of his last non-American Songbook album to reach number one in the states, Blondes Have More Fun. What does this mean for those with Rod Stewart tickets to see him perform at the Colosseum at Caesars Palace from June 4 to August 4, 2013?
It means very little as the sound on the new album is an extension of the program for the Vegas residency, which is built around his hits (It is called “The Hits”). The fans of the smoky-voiced singer will still get to listen to “Maggie May”, “You Wear It Well”, “Tonight’s the Night”, and “Do Ya Think I’m Sexy”.
The one change they may notice is fewer soccer balls being kicked into the stands. Stewart has long made this a part of his act, as he started off as an aspiring professional soccer player before settling on the rock and roll lifestyle. However, employees at the Caesars have expressed concern that some fanatical audience member may take a dive off the balcony trying to catch one of those balls. Given that Rod the Mod was getting them up to the third balcony, this might not be such a ridiculous request.
He may be able to recover from making his daughter’s sex life public knowledge or admitting to dabbling with cocaine suppositories in the past, but I am not sure even Rod Stewart could not recover from this kind of a tragedy in the middle of his set. So, be prepared to enjoy an once-in-a-lifetime show at the Colloseum with a little less athletics.
Mayweather vs. Guerrero in Las Vegas May 4
On May 4, 2013 the MGM Grand Arena will once again host one the most hyped and highly anticipated events in the world of pugilism. Floyd Mayweather Jr., the 36 year old boxer who has gone by the name Pretty Boy and has become Money, is Share/Bookmark
Justin Bieber: Hitting a Rough Patch
On June 28, 2013 the MGM Grand Garden Arena will host 16,800 screaming fans that are already prepared to cheer on Justin Bieber, even though the show is two months away. These devotees will be there whether his recent trouble with the media is forgotten or he continues to find his way into the headlines in a negative light.
These recent news items include cancelling a show because he did not sell out Justin Bieber tickets, an altercation with a photographer that was captured on video, arriving two hours late to a concert in London, and allegedly spitting on a neighbor. Of course, none of these play as badly as his trip to the Anne Frank House.

The Final 4 Soul2Soul Shows!
Las Vegas only has four performances left to enjoy one of country music’s most influential couples before they return to Nashville. These last Soul2Soul tickets are on sale for a couple of two-a-day performances on April 26 and 27. After that, it is back to normal, at least “normal” for a couple of platinum-selling musicians.
Tim McGraw will take a short break (four days) before beginning the Two Lanes of Freedom tour with Brantley Gilbert and Love and Theft. Now, this would seem to contradict the reason there were so few chances to see him and wife Faith Hill perform in Vegas at the Venetian Hotel and Casino. Get Soul2Soul Tickets here before it’s too late!
The power couple originally stated they were open to playing a residency show in Sin City because it would only take them away from their children for two or three nights a month. The Two Lanes of Freedom tour is going to keep him on the road until July 27, 2013.
However, Hill will at least be around to keep tabs on the couple’s three daughters, two of whom are teenagers (Gracie and Maggie). This certainly makes it difficult for Tim and Faith to plan a true third Soul2Soul Tour. So, it appears these final four concerts may be the best chance to see the two perform together until their youngest, Audrey, leaves for college.
Of course, then the two will have a lot more to sing about (having survived three rounds of teenage daughter angst and beginning the first stages of empty nest syndrome). Imagine that set list! It would be an emotional roller-coaster.
UFC 160 – Antonio Silva vs Cain Velasquez in Las Vegas
UFC 160 is more than a chance to watch Antonio Silva challenge Cain Velasquez for the heavyweight championship. It is an opportunity to see the precursor to perhaps the biggest MMA fight in recent memory!
If Silva takes out Velasquez and Junior dos Santos is able to defeat Mark Hunt in an undercard matchup, then the two winners, who are friends, would happily accept the chance to meet each other in the octagon. There would be a title on the line and, if there ever was a time a friendship should risk major fallout, it is over a championship. Friends have fought and fallen out over less.
House of Pain on Auto-Tune
Haze is getting a Grammy Award winner to come and host a DJ set! King of the Auto-Tune, T-Pain will be playing resident DJ at the Aria Hotel and Casino. He will be beckoning the crowd to get “Low” and to celebrate the “Good Life”.
The singer, songwriter, and producer is spending his Saturday nights getting the crowd pumped as he prepares to release his fifth full-length studio album, Stoicville: The Phoenix. T-Pain and his residence, dubbed the House of Pain, is certainly just the beginning for a man who has laid low since Revolver came out two years ago.
Lady Gaga in Vegas January 25 and 26
Lady Gaga is brewing controversy at just about every turn. The latest is Mother Monster talking about leaving the music business to pursue an acting career after her experience on the set of Machette. Supposedly, she is going to take a leave of absence to forge a career path that is better suited for a domestic lifestyle. Apparently she has not seen the divorce rates for big stars in Tinsel Town!
All this is talk right now, talk after her fans berated and bullied journalists despite her anti-bullying theme as a part of the Born This Way Ball. Ah, irony.
Still, Gaga has plenty of fans in Las Vegas and if there is any city in the United States that best appeals to her constant need for change, it is Sin City. Maybe those January 26, 2013 Lady Gaga Tickets at the MGM Grand could turn into the latest residency for the Strip.
Soul2Soul: The Countdown has Begun!
It has been a great residency for Tim McGraw and Faith Hill, and, though their time sharing the stage at the Venetian Hotel and Casino is not yet over, the end is near. This weekend the country king and queen will be playing three shows and just 22 will remain.
Overall, Soul2Soul Tickets are available for just seven more weekends. These shows are built around the couple’s three kids’ school schedule and the upcoming tours for the individual artists. Tim McGraw is going to begin his Two Lanes of Freedom Tour in May and Faith Hill is going to heading out on the road to promote her new album Illusion.
Vegas Adds A Super Bowl-Caliber Football Stadium
Las Vegas continues its renaissance in the 21st century by adding a Super Bowl-caliber football stadium. Sin City has already revolutionized its entertainment scene, with huge acts like Elton John and Celine Dion putting on sold out performances at the resorts and Cirque du Soleil keeping the oasis in the desert one step ahead of even New York. Now, plans have been proposed to give every UNLV football fan quite a view, as the blueprints feature a 100-yard long video screen.

Let There Be Light
Is there anything Cirque cannot do? Is there any Las Vegas-based group that will not tap the Montreal organization for help? The answer is apparently no as the Light Group, the hospitality group, is tapping Cirque du Soleil to re-launch Light, a massive 38,000-square-foot club in Mandalay Bay, with an equally massive concept.
Come March 2013, this will be an interactive experience, combining world-renown DJs with performers in elaborate costumes and a combination of sound, video-mapping, and lighting more appropriate for a major arena concert. And, what’s more, the performance will change just about every time, making every night a special event and allowing Light to keep on trend in the most intense hub of nightclubs in the United States.
Jerry Seinfeld’s Big Finish for 2012
Fans need not worry – Jerry Seinfeld will not be talking about Ovaltine on December 26 and 27, 2012. Neither will he be playing marriage ref or a neurotic bee. Instead, he will be taking the kind of talent that helped him re-emerge in the post-Seinfeld world as a comedian as good as his reputation to the stage at the Colosseum at Caesars Palace. This is a holiday treat for many, especially those needing a break from family post-Christmas.
The appearance is just the beginning for the comedian, whose schedule is packed with stand-up dates seemingly each weekend from the holidays through the spring. This could be the beginning of something very big for the rumored billionaire. He has not been an avid touring performer since his days leading up to the iconic show about nothing, so whenever more than a couple shows a month show up on his itinerary the rumors start compounding.
UFC 155 Junior dos Santos and Cain Velasquez in Vegas
Las Vegas is professional fighting’s home, whether it be the latest title match between pugilists or the next big MMA fight. Sin City’s next big fight features the octagon, with UFC 155 on December 29, 2012. Billed as the rematch between Junior Share/Bookmark
Coco Austin is the New Peep Show Star
Peep Show has a new star and her name is Coco Austin. The star of Ice Loves Coco has branched out and become the second E! Reality television star to headline the longest running show at the Planet Hollywood Resort and Casino. From this December to March 2013, she will take the stage and embark on a sexual awakening. Unlike many of the big names to come through and play Bo Peep,CoCois going topless, awakening the audience.
She seemed an intriguing choice from the beginning of these talks.CoCo certainly may be the most amply endowed of the former stars to take on the role, being stacked on top and on bottom. She has made it clear that she is always searching for a way to extend her brand, but only if Ice T can remain by her side. The two rarely spend time apart and Ice still has a career. So, though this gig is definitely within her wheel house, it seemed a long shot. Then again, so did her brief stint as a weather girl on Good Day New York.
She has made it work, channeling her previous experience as a glamour model and as a dancer and owning the stage. Now, when I write she has a background as a dancer, this does not mean she has even slid down a pole for money. Always with an eye toward stardom, her childhood inAlbuquerque,New Mexicowas spent learning to move to jazz, ballet, and tap. If anything, CoCo Austin may be the most qualified celebrity ever to where the white corset and translucent white stockings, making this a chance to find Peepshow tickets to see the best of all the babes live during the 12-week limited engagement.
National Finals Rodeo Here in Vegas
If one has the chance, experiencing the 10-day affair known as the Wrangler National Finals Rodeo is a must. For those who cannot make their way to the Thomas and Mack Center in Las Vegas from December 6-15, 2012, they now have two options. Rodeo fans can either catch every event, rodeo related or not, on ProRodeoLive.com or watch it on television on GAC (Great American Country). Still, like music, the experience is better live.
At least that is the case for another couple of years. The Thomas and Mack Center has hosted the event since 1985, but after the year 2014 the National Finals Rodeo will be moving to Oklahoma City. OKC is a great place, but it is nothing quite like Vegas. One has to look for something to do in Oklahoma City. In Las Vegas, one is overwhelmed with options.
Manny Pacquiao vs. Juan Manuel Marquez IV
The first time the Philippines congressman and pugilist and the Mexican mayhem machine met in Las Vegas they were fighting for the Featherweight Title. It ended in a no-decision. The second time Pac-Man and Dinamita fought in Las Vegas they were duking it out for the Super Featherweight Title. This time Pacquiao won a split decision. The third time these two met in Sin City, they fought for the Welterweight Title. Once again Pacquiao walked away the winner.
This fourth fight at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas on December 8, 2012 will be one fought for old times’ sake, with no title on the line. This is a battle between two of the sport’s biggest stars, two fighters with complimentary styles that always make for a great fight.
Wynn has Big Plans for Encore Theatre in 2013
Steve Wynn is not only a Vegas hotel tycoon, but a taste maker on the Strip. Over a decade ago he was among the first to welcome Cirque du Soleil, recognizing the end of the feather boa and Elvis impersonator era. A few years ago he realized Sin City could attract big time acts and not just homages to them, thus bringing artists of Garth Brooks’ caliber to the stage. Now, he is set on offering a competitor to the Cirque franchise, and he is likely to succeed with Funhouse.
The new show has been kept under wraps and deemed a super-secret, one Wynn gladly blew the lid on at the party following Brooks’ last show at Encore Theatre. He has recruited acclaimed show director Kenny Ortega (of High School Musical and This Is It fame), master puppet designer Michael Curry (of Lion King the Musical fame), and set designer of the rock stars Mark Fisher (who has worked with Pink Floyd and U2 but also has worked on the set of Ka).
The exact details are not yet clear, but Wynn has alluded to a Ziegfeld Follies-type show with a huge dance company, no wires, and a focus on the ups and downs of life. This certainly has piqued the curiosity of a city built on pushing bounds and will keep the city (and the competitors on edge) until Funhouse begins rehearsals in February 2013.
The Killers are coming to Vegas
The Killers are doing their best to keep out of the American spotlight, refusing to make a statement with regards to the presidential election (though lead singer Brandon Flowers has stated each camp is free to like the Killers music). Instead, they have been using these controversial few months to ramp up their UK and European presence. They will be there until the end of their European leg of the Battle Born World Tour on November 17, 2012, performing on Jools Holland and at the Season 9 finale of the British X Factor before coming back to start the North American Leg.

Vicente Fernandez Cancels his Las Vegas Concert
Vicente Fernandez has cancelled all of his concerts for the rest of the year. A lump was found on his liver a few days ago and he has to undergo surgery to get it removed. He made the following statement:
“I feel calm, with a lot of optimism and much faith that all will turn out fine in the operation. I’ve been very pampered by my whole family, who have been at my side all through this process.”
“I give infinite thanks to you for your displays of affection, to the public, to the communications media, for keeping an eye out and being concerned for me. I ask everyone to keep praying for my health.”
Hopefully Vicente will make a fast and safe recovery so we can see him soon in Las Vegas.
Wiz Khalifa at the Thomas Mack Center on Nov 15
Is Wiz Khalifa a star or a superstar? His first major-label studio album featured three platinum singles (“Black and Yellow”, “Roll Up”, and “No Sleep”). He is engaged to hip hop supermodel Amber Rose and now has a child with her. He is headlining his own tour (the 2050 Tour). He has started his own independent music label (Taylor Gang Records) and has signed his high school buddies. Wiz is even considered a bit of a fashion mogul.
Put this all together and, on the eve of the release of O.N.I.F.C., he is at least worthy of star status. If Khalifa is not quite considered a superstar, then this new album, at least based on the popularity of its first single (Work Hard, Play Hard), is going to elevate his status. Really, I would venture that one more platinum single a superstar makes, especially in the hip hop industry.
Hip hop is a music genre resembling country in the 1980s and 1990s. Platinum albums are rare in comparison to rock and pop, with singles being the focus of the industry. These singles are often collaboration on these albums, and O.N.I.F.C. is expected to rely quite heavily on those imported names.
In anticipation for this new album, Wiz Khalifa has released a mixtape, Cabin Fever 2. The mixtape has a number of his Taylor Gang label mates making appearances, specifically Juicy J. the mixtape is a pretty gruff affair, featuring plenty of the Lex Lugor Sound. The full length album is expected to have much softer sound, one that, when combined with break in bass and the association with another name in the hip hop game, will take Wiz Khalifa to superstardom.
Wiz Khalifa Tickets are going fast for his upcoming concert in Las Vegas which will be at the Thomas & Mack Center. This will be a huge concert and you definitely don’t want to miss this if you’re going to be in Las Vegas, NV.
